Referencia de la música brasileña en Europa, ÂMy B., DJ y productora musical y cultural, es natural de São Paulo y vive en Lyon hace 9 años. Es la primera DJ mujer a trabajar solo con la cultura brasileña en el continente europeo, compartiendo su amor en mezclas eclécticas y comprometidas, navegando entre pepitas desconocidas, grandes clásicos y nuevas sonoridades brasileñas.
Reference of Brazilian music in Europe, âMy B., DJ and musical and cultural producer, is from São Paulo and has lived in Lyon for the past 9 years. She is the first female DJ to work alone with Brazilian culture on the European continent, sharing her love in eclectic and committed mixes, navigating among unknown nuggets, great classics and new Brazilian sonorities.
DJ MARINÊS
DJ Marinês es portuguesa y siempre le ha fascinado el mundo de la música y poder compartirlo. Descubrió la cultura del Nordeste de Brasil a través del baile Forró y ahora se inspira en su música. El tradicional Forró Roots de la década de los 70 es su favorito, con influencias funk. Marinês te hará volar y bailar al ritmo de forró, samba, côco, arrastapé y otros ritmos brasileños.
DJ Marinês is portuguese and has always been fascinated by the world of music and sharing it. She discovered Northeast Brazil's culture through Forró dance and she is now inspired by its music. Traditional Forro Roots from the 70' decade is her favorite, with funk influences. Marinês will make you fly and dance to the rhythm of forró, samba, côco, arrastapé and other Brazilian rhythms.
DJ IVAN
Ivan Dias es DJ, Investigador, coleccionista y organizador de eventos de Forró en Brasil desde 1997. Desde el 2002, organiza el Festival Rootstock, que reúne anualmente a los más grandes artistas del forró actual y a los tríos de forró tradicionales.
Ivan Dias is a DJ, researcher, collector and event organizer for Forró in Brazil since 1997. Since 2002, he has organized the “Festival Rootstock”, which annually brings together the nowadays greatest forró artists and traditional forró trios.
DJ PEDRO BZ
El capitán de Forró Pirata hará parte de nuestro programa y estamos muy contentas de recibirlo de nuevo. Pedro BZ es nacido en el Rio de Janeiro, pero lleva muchos años viviendo en Barcelona y se ha convertido en un importante difusor del forró en la ciudad contal. Siempre fue un apasionado investigador del forró y hace 4 años lo hace profesionalmente promoviendo Forró Lado B, un baile semanal en Barcelona.
The captain of Forró Pirata will be part of our program and we are very happy to welcome him again. Pedro BZ was born in Rio de Janeiro, but has lived in Barcelona for many years and has become an important promoter of forró in the city of Barcelona. He was always a passionate researcher of forró and he has been doing it professionally for 4 years, promoting Forró Lado B, a weekly dance in Barcelona.
MADAME BAIÃO
El cuarteto Madame Baião se destaca en el escenario del forró de Barcelona y Europa no solamente por su formación - 4 mujeres - pero principalmente por el cuidado, sensibilidad y trabajo de su repertorio. El grupo hace un rescate a los grandes nombres del género, con una lista que cuenta con clásicos, nuevos y "lados B" del forró pé-de-serra en arreglos auténticos y personales. Además de explorar géneros "primos" del forró como coco, maracatu, caboclinho entre otros estilos de la cultura popular de Brasil. Madame Baião ya pasó por escenarios de diversos festivales, como O Fole Roncou, Buskers Bern, Forró d’Ouro, entre otros.
Para abrir la 4ª edición del Festival Sereia, presentarán su nuevo concierto,”Seu Lua por ellas” presentando canciones de Luis Gonzaga con arreglos sorprendentes!
Y se sumarán a la noche en participación más que especial las siete sirenas de la Banda Sereia para hacer de la gozadera, una catarsis colectiva!
Madame Baião's quartet stands out in the forró scene in Barcelona and Europe not only for its formation - 4 women - but mainly for the care, sensitivity and work of its repertoire. The group rescues the great names of the genre, with a list that includes classics, new and "B-sides" of forró pé-de-serra in authentic and personal arrangements. In addition to exploring forró's "cousin" genres such as coco, maracatu, caboclinho among other styles of Brazilian popular culture. Madame Baião has already performed on stages of several festivals, such as O Fole Roncou, Buskers Bern, Forró d'Ouro, among others.
To open the 4th edition of the Sereia Festival, they will present their new concert, "Seu Lua por ellas" featuring songs by Luis Gonzaga with surprising arrangements! And the seven sirens of the Sereia Band will join the night in a very special participation to make this a collective catharsis!
CAMILA MASISO
Camila Masiso es cantante y compositora brasileña afincada hace 6 años en Lisboa. Nordestina de Natal, capital de Rio Grande do Norte, la cantante trae en su arte mucho de la rica influencia de la música de Nordeste y mezcla estos olores y sabores sonoros a otros ritmos del mundo. Camila fue la ganadora de la última edición del concurso Jazz Contest promovido por la radio portuguesa Smooth FM. A través de sus composiciones da voz a la forma como ve y se posiciona en el mundo, exaltando la fuerza y la figura de lo femenino en su trabajo. Cuenta con dos álbumes y diversos singles editados y ya presentados en países como Francia, Austria, Italia y Estados Unidos. En 2024 la cantante pretende lanzar su tercer álbum de carrera.
Camila Masiso is a Brazilian singer and composer who has been living in Lisbon for 6 years. Nordestina from Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte, the singer brings in her art much of the rich influence of the music of the Northeast and mixes these smells and flavors with other rhythms of the world. Camila was the winner of the last edition of the Jazz Contest promoted by the Portuguese radio station Smooth FM. Through her compositions she gives voice to the way she sees and positions herself in the world, exalting the strength and the figure of the feminine in her work. She has two albums and several singles released and already presented in countries such as France, Austria, Italy and the United States. In 2024 she intends to release her third career album.
CAROL BENIGNO
Carol Benigno es una acordeonista brasileña, licenciada en Música con especialidad en Acordeón y Master en Educación Musical por la Universidad Federal de Paraíba. Actualmente vive en Portugal y está cursando un doctorado en Etnomusicología. Ha actuado con varios artistas y agrupaciones, como Quinteto Violado, Chico César y Lucy Alves. En 2023 lanzó su primer EP original, Lampejo. Es profesora de Acordeón en el Instituto Federal de Rio Grande do Norte y produce contenidos artístico-pedagógicos en su canal de YouTube, que cuenta con más de 35 mil seguidores.
Carol Benigno is a Brazilian accordionist, graduated in Music with a qualification in Accordion and Master in Musical Education from the Federal University of Paraíba. He currently lives in Portugal and is studying for a PhD in Ethnomusicology at the University of Aveiro. He has performed with several artists and groups, such as Quinteto Violado, Chico César and Lucy Alves. In 2023 he released his first original EP, Lampejo. She is an Accordion teacher at the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte and produces artistic-pedagogical content on her YouTube channel, which has more than 35 thousand followers.
ORQUESTRA JUVENIL DE LA ESCUELA EMAC
El sábado 03 de febrero habrá el "Baile de Gala del Festival Sereia" en el que la artista brasileña Camila Masiso y la acordeonista brasileña Carol Benigno compartirán el escenario con la Orquesta Juvenil de la Escuela EMAC, creando una noche marcada por el anacronismo y la magia. Con dirección y arreglos del violinista João Silva y coordinación de Jabu Morales, la creación de puentes entre el universo de la cultura popular de Brasil y la música clásica producida por jóvenes estudiantes de la escuela de Poblenou es el retrato de la fructífera integración entre culturas que inspira, desde hace 4 años, la realización del Festival Sereia de Forró y Cultura Popular.
On Saturday, February 3rd, there will be the "Sereia Festival Gala Ball" in which Brazilian artist Camila Masiso and Brazilian accordionist Carol Benigno will share the stage with the EMAC School Youth Orchestra, creating a night marked by anachronism and magic. With direction and arrangements by violinist João Silva and coordination by Jabu Morales, the creation of bridges between the universe of Brazilian popular culture and classical music produced by young students of the Poblenou school is the portrait of the fruitful integration between cultures that inspires, for 4 years, the realization of the Festival Sereia de Forró y Cultura Popular.
